Comments:

I am the worship leader at my local church, and my husband and I minister in the prison system in Georgia and Florida. We also evangelize wherever we are asked to come. I also minister in a local nursing home each month. My husband John and I became elders at our church in 2014. Jesus is #1 in our lives, then each other, our children and grandchildren, and then the ministry. I became a nurse and retired, in November of 2011. My husband has written his first book and I have 2 CD's of original worship songs. I also just finished my first book.

Which Junior High School did you attend?

Southwest (Satellites)

School Story:

When I was in high school, I was busy skipping school, trying to find acceptance, and trying to figure out what I wanted in life. I looked up to so many of you, but felt I was not good enough for you, so I just did stupid things, stayed as low key as I could, and watched from afar. I was very insecure and had a very low self esteem, so I really didn't think anyone with any class would like me. The only thing I was 'good' at was singing. Music has always been my passion. I was in the Chorale all 3 years of high school, and in the Ensemble in my senior year. It was the one thing that made me feel like I could do something.

I look back on high school and wonder if anyone will even remember me. My life is totally different now.

I attended Darton College in Albany, Georgia and received my A.S. degree in nursing. I worked with geriatric patients on the medical/surgical floor. Tough and stressful work, but very rewarding.

Favorite Mel-Hi teacher(s)?

I remember Mr. Crittenden. He was the first teacher that ever seemed to care about me.

High points of your life since high school:

The birth of my children was very significant to me. Also, my ordination and being appointed the leader of Worship in my church. I have been involved with women's conferences, revivals, and prison ministry for years. Making my first CD of all original worship songs is a big highlight for me. My second one is almost done. I love the ministry and traveling. Planing some mission trips to Haiti, Kenya, South America and many places in the USA.

Things I would've done differently in high school had I known what I know now.

I would have attended classes and tried harder to actually learn something. I would not have been so rebellious and would have cared more about my future.
I would have trusted people a little more and tried harder to make some real friends.

Favorite music:

Contemporary christian - Casting Crowns, Mercyme, Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, Matthew West, Jeremy Camp, Tobymac and many others.

Cool things you've done:

I was ordained as a minister and have been ministering in music and preaching/teaching for the past several years. I have sung on our local television show. I did a concert in the park in Tifton. It is an event called "Friday in the Park" where local talents are given 2 1/2 hours to perform for the people. It was written up in the local newpaper as well. I was also present for the birth of 5 of my grandchildren. There is something really awesome about watching your grandchild come into the world.

Anything else we should know?

My husband has just finished writing his first book, which is going to publishing this week. I assisted him with this endeavor. It is the testimony of his life, and we hope it will help to change the lives of the downtrodden.

Hello Ken. I have wondered about how you are doing these days. I remember you as being a very sweet and likable young man in high school. I see you have a couple of children. I have 4 and 10 grandchildren. Life has been full of its ups and downs, but I do not regret anything.
